    School and Library Presentations
Visiting schools and libraries are the most rewarding aspects of being an author. I love the opportunity to discuss my novels and what inspired these stories, with students. I do presentations for students in Kindergarten all the way up to grade 10.
For junior, intermediate and senior students I will use a power point presentation. We will discuss the novels and play games to develop character, setting and plot in fictional writing. Depending on the group we often delve into historical fiction.Oral story telling and writing workshops are part of the presentation and if time permits, we will do some dutch folk art.
In the Primary grades, we will discuss friendship, co-operation, perseverance, determination and forgiveness. We will create simple poems or chants together and tell stories. If time permits we will fold the paper wagon and or decorate carousel horses.

As a retired teacher, I feel comfortable doing presentations and readings for large groups of students.

In the first picture, I'm dressed in 1940s fashion and talked about my war novels, for the Grandmothers for Africa fundraiser.
During my presentation at the library the topic was, Oral Story Telling. Every one in the group  told a story about an event that had happened in their family.
