On November 1, I finally met my editor, Maggie de Vries. We had e-mailed each other and spoken on the phone, and worked on two novels, but during the 3 years we had worked together we had never met.

Over dinner, we discovered that we had a few things in common. Maggie has some roots in Friesland as well. Our meeting was inspiring and I went home with a head full of new writing ideas.
