A Time to Choose was inspired by historical facts. The main event, the raid on the House of Detention, which happened December 8, 1944, became the highlight of this novel. I was intrigued by this heroic deed of the members of the underground movement.

The movie 'The Overval' was produced in 1962 and I was able to see this movie with my classmates.

I realized quickly that to use this event in the context of 'A Time to Choose' , I had to minimize this operation as well as its preparations.
